Give each plant the right amount of light
Light preferences differ across succulent varieties. A sunny outdoor position may suit some plants but scorch others after a sudden move from shade. Introduce plants to brighter conditions gradually and watch for changes in leaf colour or growth that may signal too much or too little light.
Drainage matters as much as watering
Use a container with drainage and a growing medium suited to succulents. Water thoroughly when needed, then allow excess moisture to drain; avoid leaving the pot standing in water. During humid or rainy periods, sheltered placement and careful watering can help reduce prolonged wetness.
Choose a location you can manage
Succulents can work in containers, bright interiors and selected outdoor spaces, provided the light and drainage are appropriate. Think about monsoon exposure, reflected heat and how quickly containers dry in your particular spot. A small, well-planned group is often easier to care for than many plants with different requirements.
